THE RED STRIPE BAND
21.30 – 23.15
THE ANDY DICKENS BAND
19.15 – 21.00
Just because we love them so much, our Saturday night headliner from last year, Mr Red Stripe and his wonderful Red Stripe Band are back again, headlining our Friday Night.
If you like Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues band then you’ll love these guys – their upbeat, high energy boogie-woogie is delivered by some of the best session musicians in the business.
The band now regularly plays at the top jazz festivals in the UK and beyond including Edinburgh, Upton, Umbria, Cork, Brighton, Oslo and Derry and last year won the Best Band award at the Marlborough International Jazz Festival.
Red Stripe’s immediate rapport with the audience and quirky humour makes this show unmissable – Stephen Fry
Supporting The Red Stripe Band we have a real treat for Jazz lovers. Tumpet and Flugel Horn player Andy Dickens from The Artemis All Stars is back with a slightly different line up, in the form of The Andy Dickens Band. One thing’s for sure it’s guaranteed to be a band choc full of exceptional jazz talent.
Andy Dickens has performed in the UK, Europe and The Middle East for over twenty five years entertaining audiences with a blend of fiery jazz, bluesy vocals, ballads and popular standards. This is contemporary, accessible jazz at it’s best!
